Dr. Gary Rylander is a native Austinite and younger brother of his partner, Dr. Grady Rylander. He is board certified in General Ophthalmology with special training in anterior segment problems of the eye. His training includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Masters of Science in Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
In 1982, Dr. Rylander returned to Austin to practice ophthalmology with his present partners. His specialty interests in ophthalmology include cornea and external diseases of the eye and anterior segment surgery (cataract surgery, corneal surgery, etc.). He provides ophthalmologic care for patients from the Second Street Ministries, Austin Independent School District Needy Student program, and the Mental Health Mental Retardation program.
Dr. Rylander is married with two sons and a daughter. He is quite involved with family activities as well as many scientific and cultural activities.
