Annie Chan

Dr. Annie Chan is a native Austinite, a board-certified ophthalmologist, and fellowship-trained in cornea, cataract, refractive, and external diseases. She earned a Bachelor of Sciences in Biology from Stanford University, earned her medical degree from UT Health San Antonio, and completed a rigorous ophthalmology residency program and fellowship in cornea, cataract, refractive surgery, and external diseases at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City, OK. She then joined the faculty at UT Health San Antonio as Assistant Professor and Director of Corneal and Refractive Services. Dr. Chan returned to Austin to be near family and to serve her hometown community.

Dr. Chan is a leading surgeon in laser cataract surgery and offers the latest presbyopic correcting lens options. She also has a special interest in the treatment of dry eyes and keratoconus and is experienced with corneal collage crosslinking and the latest corneal transplantation techniques such as DMEK and ultra-thin DSAEK.

Dr. Chan is delighted to be back in Austin to serve with excellence and dedication to her patients. She is passionate about community service and has served through Remote Area Medical Volunteer Corps, iCare San Antonio, and international missions with SEE International. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, is active in her church, and loves hiking, photography, traveling, and exploring Austin.
